Prank bar yelp1/20/2024 ![]() We should've gotten out right away, but we thought 'oh well it can't be that bad'. The rest of the decoration also refers to toilets and is simply hideous. The name of the place (Klo, also 'Toilet') is chosen for a reason because it's supposed to be an 'entertainment/prank' bar where you have tables surrounded with toilet pots and bar seats that can unexpectedly move up and down. My friend lived around the corner, we wanted a late night drink and that was the only place that was still open. I once made the mistake to go to Klo (Leibnizstraße 57, close to Kurfürstendamm). ![]() It seems to have very few customers most of the time and the few it does have tend to seem like the wannabe tough guy types so possibly just another money laundering front - there are quite a few places in the area that seem to be similar. It's cleaner and more recently furnished than it's neighbour but also has generally bad service and is just a pretty terrible place. Next to it is Polska Paka Club which doesn't seem to know if it's a bar or club or what and has decor that makes it look like a former strip club now spending it's time as a terrible bar. Pretty bad service, bad drinks, looks terrible and unclean, the regulars seem to be people barely surviving half the time but hey there's a (crap) pool table and a jukebox. Zum Magendoktor is a bit like your average run down shitty kneipe only with a mix of some younger student type clientele alongside the ancient regulars and it just being generally a bit worse in every way than most standard kneipe. It's hard to pick which is worse but both bars next to the less often used exit from S-Bahn Wedding on to Reinickendorfer Str are pretty terrible. Then of course there's Soho House – for people who have to pay to have friends. You know how you can't get into Berghain wearing a collared shirt, high-heels, or a faux-hawk? – so this is the opposite of that.Ĭlose second in terrible Mitte bars is probably "Mein Haus Am See", where I wince at the "hippies always welcome" sign in the window, everytime I walk by. ![]() "Neu Odessa Bar" sells overpriced cocktails, and it looks like a "bar" from a tv sitcom where the main characters go to a "cool bar." It also has a bouncer (lol). Worst, but in "no really, don't go there" I would probably award to any of the tourist bars in Mitte. One of the drunk patrons locked their bicycle to mine outside, and they didn't remove it for a whole week. The playlist is 90s Euro-garbage, and they insist on having a dance floor despite no space. The patrons alternate between hipsters from the nearby galleries, and an old man who is drinking orange juice but taking some heavy prescription drugs. The decor is somewhere between tiki bar and grandma's house.
